Sourcing & Innovation Days give a hand to African Children association

Suppliers that attended last years Sourcing & Innovation Days, together with the Agora SAS -organizer of this international event- have initiated a close relationship with the non-for-profit association "Les Enfants du Monde 06".
The association, which is composed of just 45 members, helps African children, and more precisely in the sub-Saharan areas such as South Algeria and Nigeria. They help however they can but mainly in education access, water supplies and medical care.
Founded in 2000, "Les Enfants du Monde" decided to follow two main guidelines. First, all members are volunteers and therefore not employed and they organise goods collects and transportation with the members own financing. By doing this a lot of troubles are avoided according to President Serge Rocca. The second guideline is that the members take and distribute the goods themselves directly to the children and African families.
By taking part in the distribution, and sometimes also in the building of new facilities, the association can really prove to its partners the efficiency of their participation. It is also an excellent way to understand what needs have to be fulfilled in priority.
Sourcing & Innovation Days has been mandated by stationery & office supplies suppliers to find a nice way of distributing samples left behind in Cannes, France after the event.
Goods have been taken to Nice last week-end and a convoy will leave France on February 17th for Niger (via Italy, Tunisia and Algeria). After 3,700 kms and 8 days of hard driving, the association members will then spend 2 weeks in Niger.
Apart from delivering school supplies and medical goods, a new school will be opened in North Niger, a well will be securised, and a dormitory room will be equipped for ten "Peul" children who were living and sleeping in a classroom for months...
